Who We Are
At Summerland Montessori School, our mission is to provide a thoughtfully prepared, engaging environment that supports each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. We guide children as they develop the attitudes, skills, and independence needed for a lifetime of confident, creative thinking.
We believe in educating the whole child, supporting emotional, social, academic, physical, and moral development. Our program includes daily physical activity and French instruction, regular exposure to music and the arts, and meaningful opportunities for leadership, mentoring, and community involvement. Together, these experiences help foster a strong sense of belonging and responsibility within our school community.

Our Organization
Summerland Montessori School is operated by the South Okanagan Montessori School Society, a not-for-profit registered charity. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents and members of the wider community. Board members are elected annually at the Society’s Annual General Meeting.
The Board provides overall governance and ensures the school operates in accordance with the Society’s Constitution.
The Head of School oversees the planning and delivery of the educational program and manages the day-to-day operations of the school. All teachers and staff are employees of the Society and are dedicated to supporting the growth and well-being of every child.
